The Maritime Intestinal Research Alliance (MIRA) is a centre of excellence in Gastroenterology (GI) research. MIRA unites biomedical and clinical sciences with the social sciences under a multidisciplinary model to advance our understanding of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), improve treatment options, and develop and validate outcome measures and disease activity indices. We are located within IWK Health in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where we work in partnership with Dalhousie University.
